Workshop: Delicious city – primary education
In the Delicious city workshop at the MAS, children will explore the story behind their daily meals. Today, more than ever, young people are growing up in an urbanised society. Worldwide, half of the population lives in a city. How do cities manage to feed their inhabitants? Where does that food come from? How does it end up on our plates? And what do we do with all of the waste?

During this guided tour at the MAS, pupils will discover the trail of food through the city. This trail starts with the supply and ends with the waste. In the MAS, the pupils will actively search for the ingredients that have formed Antwerp. After the tour, they will build a city of food during the workshop: a delicious city, so to speak.
Practical information:
- This workshop is suitable for the first and second year of primary school
- Maximum 15 children per group, maximum 2 groups at the same time
- Duration: 120 minutes
- Museum admission: free of charge for school groups
