Taste and aesthetics change over time. Cooking and the way it is served becomes art.
Eating is a total experience and enjoyment is an added value. During the 20th century, people ate out more. Only for festive occasions was the table lavishly set. During the lockdowns, there was renewed interest in fine cutlery and crockery. Contemporary designers explore the boundary between utilitarian and artistic objects in their designs.
