Eight centuries have passed since 1221, when Antwerp was granted city rights. In this historic tour you will discover how the city has developed in all aspects: geographically, economically and managerially. Magnificently restored buildings such as the Steen, the City Hall and the Stock Exchange testify to the growth of the city. Why do Antwerpians still distrust people from the other side of the river? What is the origin of the prejudice that Antwerpians are conceited? To these and many other questions you will find the answers during this tour.

We start at the Steen, walk through the historic centre with the restored City Hall. If accessible we will briefly visit the renovated Stock Exchange. It will be a fascinating journey through the past with a view on to the future. You will certainly be surprised by how much this 800-year-old has to tell you.
