Step inside the magnificent Meir Palace, a magnificent 18th-century Rococo pearl in the heart of Antwerp. Originally built as the dream home of a wealthy merchant, this elegant city palace was embellished and redecorated time and again over the years at the behest of its illustrious owners: Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and Kings Willem I and Leopold II.

A tour full of glamour and history
Our enthusiastic guides bring the past to life with an experiential tour of the palace’s salons. During the tour, you will not only discover the palace’s opulence and grandeur, but also be challenged to learn about its historical savoir-vivre. Question is: would you like to become the next occupant of this luxury property?

Practical information:

  • Date upon request. Only possible on weekdays, between 9h00 and 17h00. Last booking at 15h30.
  • Price: € 100 for the guide + € 7 per individual ticket.

Is the monument accessible for wheelchair users, people with reduced mobility or people with strollers?

Yes. The monument has a lift. Only the first stop of the tour (the historical basement) is not accessible to wheelchair users, people with reduced mobility or people with strollers.

They can participate in the tour but no extra guidance is provided for people with hearing or visual impairments.

How to reach the monument? Can you park your car nearby? Can you get there by public transport?

Meir Palace is easily accessible by public transport. Pre-metro stop Meir is nearby. Antwerp Central Station and free ferry from Left Bank to Het Steen are a 15-minute walk away. There are several paying car parks near the Palace.

Yes, there is a lift available.

Yes, however, there is are no guided tours specifically for children.

Can I smoke in the monument?

No, the monument is a smoke-free environment.

Yes, it is allowed to take pictures.

Is there a museum shop?

No, there is no giftshop. You will find The Chocolate Line on the ground floor, though, and in the coach house you will find Flamant.
